I probably won't be personally, the reason I did it for vehicles is because of the extremely large inventory, whereas turrets only have one slot.
I'm thinking of the phrase "putting all your eggs in one basket" here as well, since you only drive one of them at a time, whereas you're much more likely to have multiple turrets. If you have so many turrets dying where losing the ammo is actually important, I'd reconsider my combat strategies.
