Thanks! The process was fairly simple: I used midjourney and played around with some prompts. I ended up using "thumbnail for a factorio mod. shows a city with a train station in the center. a train is arriving. use an industrial gritty style that follows the colours and design of factorio" which didn't get me exactly what I wanted, but I was quite happy with the result.
