Thermal Solar Power (Lite)

Streamlined fork of Thermal Solar Power by MarximusMaximus and others. Contains the basic thermal solar panel (+ large version for better performance), heat exchanger & heat pipe. A new heat loss mechanism has been added, along with various features, visual updates, settings and new mod compat. The mod is carefully balanced for vanilla, but can be configured.

Thermal solar panels can't be built on Cerys.

It appears that the Cerys mod applies a restrictive surface condition (magnetic field < 120) to all "non-Cerys" entities of the "reactor" prototype, which includes my thermal solar panels. This is done in prototypes/override/entity.lua, line 6. So it seems that the author of that mod needs to refine the criteria by which these conditions are applied. I am afraid I can't do anything on my end!

I reported the issue to the Cerys author in the factorio modded server. He responded me that:

Entities that produce heat are intended to be banned on Cerys. Even so, Cerys doesn't generally make exceptions to specific entities or recipes from mods, and if an entity is banned, that's just the way it is. Note also that the surface condition on experimental uses 'ambient radiation' to avoid colliding conditions with any other mod, that dev is looking at the older stable version.

Hm. I will look into the issue again and see if I can make them work anyway. Despite it being cold, Cerys has plenty solar power, so thermal solar panels should work very well on it.

Hi again. Long story short, I have thought it over, and I feel that it is better to just abide by the intent of the mod. It would be odd for thermal panels to work, when far more powerful methods of heat production are banned.
