I would love to see another entity, that could be wired to monitor status of items on the belt.
Thought about it for a long time and can't figure out a way to make it both work engine-wise and useful gameplay-wise.
Gameplay-wise you can put it at the end of the belt to read how fresh the 4 items on the belt are, to determine if you should pull items off of it.
