I've been playing with Space Exploration mod set which includes Robot Attrition (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/robot_attrition). This adds a repeatable technology titled Swarm safety. When this is placed in the queue, Improved Research Queue, will research it repeatedly instead of finishing a single level of the technology. It is repeated endlessly no matter what the state of the rest of the queue is.

Is it possible to support this tech similar to the other vanilla repeatable technologies where each level is queued?

Hmm yes this has been requested before, it's the same problem with all "infinite" technologies, of which there are a few in vanilla even. It's not trivial to implement because with infinite technologies the different levels aren't actually different technology prototypes. But it should be possible, I'll look into it.
