Mod Smart Chest did not live up to expectations. Eats items. And there is no way to return them. Using the original Link Chest from the base mod is more convenient. At least there is an opportunity to return things.
Can you be more precise about the issues ?
When you remove all chests of the same color, everything that was in them disappears.
Maybe you should change the player settings for merging chest.
