Ship Remote

Remote-control independent ships and send them across water using Factorio's pathfinder.

Ship Remote adds a simple remote control tool for ships from Cargo Ships and compatible naval mods.

Select a ship.
Click a water destination.
Let Factorio calculate the route.

No more manually driving every boat across the map.

How to use

  1. Create or spawn the Ship Remote.
  2. Hold the remote in your cursor.
  3. Select an independent ship or boat.
  4. Use Ctrl + Right Mouse Button on water.
  5. The selected ship will follow the calculated route.

Shortcut

Default shortcut:

Alt + R

This creates the Ship Remote item.

Supported ships

Ship Remote supports:

  • Cargo Ships independent boats
  • Battleship independent ships, if installed
  • Other compatible car-type water vehicles with ship-like names

Known supported names include:

  • indep-boat
  • indep-battleship
  • indep-aircraft-carrier
  • indep-patrol-boat

Settings

Remote waypoint spacing

Controls the minimum distance between pathfinder waypoints kept by Ship Remote.

Default value:

14

Allowed range:

4 to 64

Lower values can create smoother routes.
Higher values can reduce waypoint density.

Required:

  • Factorio 2.0
  • Base >= 2.0.67
  • Cargo Ships >= 1.0.32

Optional:

  • Battleship

Notes

This is an early release.

The mod focuses on simple and reliable remote movement for independent ships.

Best results happen on open water with enough space around the selected destination.

If a ship cannot continue moving, Ship Remote stops it and shows a message.
