would be great!

I can add weather across all planets, but I'm not sure which weather would make sense.

I think Vulcanus would probably have something like rain, but maybe it would be like an ash kind of thing instead of water? Lightning definitely.

Gleba could def use lightning for some extra spice.

Would Aquillo have rain?

Just saying cause there are custom planets and the two mods which as many planets, would be great to make weather on each earth like planet.
Not sure where lightning would be great, i think rain could be used on any planet, like toxic rain (just visuals) maybe we can adjust the colour of the sprite?
Fog, Heavy rain, slight rain, maybe some thunder sound sand lightning maybe wind?

Just some ideas.

Yeah, I like those ideas. I'm gonna stick with focusing on nauvis and some of the basics first, then I'll look into generically supporting custom planets

I ended up adding lightning to Gleba for now.

I’ve been thinking about various weather ideas for the game:

  1. Ash Rain on Vulcanus
  2. Occasional ash rainfall that might be accompanied by small asteroids striking certain areas.
  3. These asteroids could create a burning area-of-effect (AoE), damaging nearby players or structures.

  4. Spore/Toxic Rain on Gleba

  5. Similar concept, but with a poisonous or toxic element.
  6. Could cause health degeneration or require special gear to survive the hazardous conditions.

  7. Snowfall on Aquillo

  8. Heavy snow, possibly featuring “snow lightning” and dense mist.
  9. Walking in low temperatures could make surfaces slippery, forcing characters to slide around.

Additional Concepts:

  • Reduced Visibility:
  • Implement thick fog or mist to limit view distance.
  • Certain weather events could disrupt radar systems, preventing them from providing up-to-date information.

  • Lighting and Texture Changes:

  • Dynamic lighting shifts and color filters to emphasize different weather conditions.
  • Could be used alongside fog to create more immersive visuals.

Why These Features Matter:

  • Adds depth and variety to the game world, making each region feel unique.
  • Encourages players to adapt their strategies and equipment to survive or thrive in extreme conditions.
  • Recalls the spirit of older weather mods (like MoWeather), which brought realism and excitement to gameplay.
