Factorio but in reverse. You start with a rocket silo and your goal is to craft the crash site space ship. Decompose science into items, unassemble items into basic materials and unsmelt basic materials into ores.
So far I have just build a massive research facility and am researching everything. Why should I decompose now? I can decompose some buildings but why should I need ores now? I only need ore at the very last step (Ore -> Omniresource -> building to crash site). And as that is only possible at the very end, I don't need to decompose now? Am I missing something?
So far I see it as:
-Research everything, (takes quite long)
-Choose one spawn recipte
-Decompose those items into ores
-Craft that into Omniresource
-Craft building crash site?
I really like the concept but can't see how decomposing is useful?
The outline you sketch is indeed how the core mechanic of the mod works. Decomposing is there for two reasons: Generate essence (spawn and research) and generate intermediate products (i.e. items which are not used in other recipes, such as certain inserters, belts, etc). I am still figuring out a nice gameplay mechanic for the decomposition part because right now 90% is indeed quite useless.
