i This looks incredible, but easy hotkeys?

So I'm a longtime fan of bobs adjustables, and this looks pretty dope. However, I'm VERY used to utilizing three or four particular hotkeys of bobs adjustables and i actually think having to click-click after each inserter is going to be harder/more tedious than just hovering over the inserter and using my hotkeys, as that requires no mouse movement/precision.

I use the following all the time:
-longify the whole thing (extend pickup & drop by 1 tile, cycle back to 1 after max range)
-longify the pickup
-longify the dropoff
-change to near vs far within the drop tile
-rotate pickup by one square (keeping within the same range, so it'll stay within 1 range if it's already set to pickup from 1 range, etc)

I'd say probably 90+ % of the time, I don't use the GUI at all to set the pickup/dropoff, so if I were to use this mod, I would want similar functionality where I control with hotkeys most of the time, and only utilize mouse movement/clicking when I need to. Is such a thing possible with this mod?

Thanks!

When it comes to mods I'm a "as few hotkeys as possible" kind of person, because there's so many mods with hotkeys that I personally just don't know what to bind anything to anymore. Doesn't help that I use a lot of hotkeys in vanilla leaving fewer for mods. That's why I went with just 1 hotkey.

There's 2 things I can tell you here:
1) QAI has been made with bob's adjustable inserters in mind, which means you can have both of them enabled at the same time. You could even disable all the GUI from bob's with its own settings afaik and just use it for its hotkeys.
2) I'll take a note and go through the keybinds that bob's has and determine if I'd like to add them as opt-in keybinds to this mod. Basically they'd be unbound by default. On the one hand to enable people to disable bob's entirely if they like QAI, and on the other hand to make sure the keybinds behave consistently with all the edge cases that QAI is handling (even though the odd inserters I'm referring to are so rare that nodoby is likely ever going to run into those cases, but still, consistency is nice)

So thanks for pointing out the keybinds, I honestly completely forgot to even look at them once I made the initial decision of having 1 keybind.

1 - Nice! I'll have to try it out then, because the way yours works is definitely nicer for when I do need a particularly "weird" setup of inserters for the hyper spaghetti moments.

2 - Yeah having opt in keybinds could be nice!

Sounds good! I've already started looking into it, but as per usual it is a bit more involved to implement properly. Since option 1) exists I'm not stressing myself to get this done soon, but chances are that at some point in the future there will be opt in keybinds :)
