Piecewise Undergrounds


What? Underground pipes actually require... pipes!? Piecewise Undergrounds builds undergrounds and consumes pipes based on how long they are, instead of just requiring some for the recipe (because how does that make sense). It fully supports bots, modded pipes, pipe braiding, fluid shenanigans, rotation, undo, redo, NPT, CCP, and more.

Is that a problem with your mod, or might it be a conflict with another one?

This mod doesn't make them longer.

Could you add that feature? IRL, pipes can travel for hundreds of kilometres underground without needing to surface ever dozen meters. That latter requirement for vanilla Factorio is an irritating issue that your mod could correct.

(I'm currently using the 'Configurable Underground Lengths' mod to make using underground pipes more believable, and your mod makes that well-balanced.)

No, you can use another mod like the one you mentioned to do that.

If you really want to go for realism, AUP might be more for you. Why restrict yourself to straight lines?

Fair enough.

(I've used both AFH many times and tried out AUP, as well, but I still keep coming back to (largely) vanilla piping. I really can't tell you why, when both other options are clearly superior. :shrug: )

Hey, whatever floats your boat. I do enjoy that it makes using short pipe spans way less resource intensive than the same cost as a full drag.
