So, I sometimes when deforesting place a normal steel chest, put wood/stone inside and pick it up.
I use right-click to open it in my inventory but the chest, while in my inventory, holds about twice as many stacks as normal, leading to spillage if I try to place it.
I also use the merging chests mod, but the chest in question was not merged (mentioning in case of mod interaction).
