i (Resolved) change the range of mining drills

how do i change the range of Resource Mining Drill in this mod? i notice that the resource electric mining drill has a very large mining zone(also generate a large ore field on this zone) which i hope to be smaller, is there any config file that i can change this range setting? the mining zone is so large that i cannot put different resource mining drills close because i dont want to mix different ores in one belt :)
ty for ur hard working on this mod. its really useful for me

Unfortunately the mining area of a drill must be defined and are not adjustable. The mod creates a Resource mining drill for each size of drill. You should see a Resource burner mining drill that is 2x2, the Resource electric mining drill which is 5x5 and if you have Space Age active, the Resource big mining drill which is 13x13. This mod does support other mods that add different size drills, such as Bob's Mining.

I got a Small solution for you here mate... put 1 iron miner in the middle, circle that miner with 4 iron miners but 1 1 space connection between them and the miner ain the middle, remove the 4 miners miner in the middle will have resources as big as it is. il show you 2 pictures.

Version 0.7.3 has been uploaded. Adding a startup setting: Trim Resource mining drill area (default: disabled)
I believe this setting accomplishes what you desired.

LuaEntityPrototype doesn`t contain key get_mining_drill_radius

LuaEntityPrototype doesn`t contain key get_mining_drill_radius

local mining_drill = data.raw["mining-drill"][TO_COPY]
local radius = get_effective_mining_radius(mining_drill)

maybe here is the problem? get_EFFECTIVE_mining_radius

The issue is I did not think to check the Factorio version required for get_mining_drill_radius().
You are running version 2.0.55 and I am on 2.0.58, so it works for me. I will get a new version out asap.

it was good i got a darn picture with my version :))))))))

i know you guys like the 2.0.58 because of the modding advantages it gives . please do brother one for 2.0.55 thank you.

Version 2.0.77 works as intended.
What was wrong with 2.0.75 and 2.0.76?

Thank you! Very sorry for messing up your game play. I really appreciate your willingness to report the issues,

0.7.5 did fix the bug you experienced, but in my rush to get the fix out, I messed up the changelog saying version 0.7.6. So I made 0.7.6 so the changelog version matched the release version. And then 0.7.7 fixes a couple of other bugs I found with quality and the mining of Resource mining drills.

the Q (Pipette) copy the exact miner as it is saved it does not take into consideration resource sellected ... that wasnt like that before.
Could Pipette copy only the miner but not the resource it already has ?
what i mean i have a copper miner .. now i want to build a Iron miner and i already sellected iron ore in the setting but when i press Q on the miner and put it down it does not come as an IRON miner it comes as a copper miner.
In 0.7.2 pipette did not save the resource the miner had now it does.

i see the problem.

When i press Q (Pipette) on a miner it changes the resource to the one the miner has, enev though i have sellected other resource.

But now there are no available resource nodes to pipette.

when i press Q on the miner , whatever that miner is that it will place down, no matter what resource i choose in the setting.
before the pipette forced a new entity build, not it just copy the existing one as it is.

Version 0.8.1 has been uploaded.
Pipette always follows the resource selector.
Copy and Paste always includes the existing resources.
Blueprints will include existing resources following the startup setting.

Thank You, now everything is good.

To clarify, blueprints store the resource, not the startup setting. If a blueprint is made with resources included, use of the blueprint will place resources, even if later you disable the startup setting.

Edit: Not sure the above clarified much. Let me try again.
The blueprint records the resource (if the startup setting is enabled). When placing the blueprint, the current startup setting has no influence, the resource will be placed.

So ideally, a runtime option (with keybindings) to include or exclude the resource for copy/cut/blueprint?
And there is pipette (Q) use. That does not raise the same event, I will need to look into that more, not sure it can be controlled.

now it is PERFECT like in 0.7.2 Blueprint store the miner and the resource while Q(pipette) copies the entity and build a new one with basic resource sellection from the menu.
