b (Resolved) Does not need fuel

When using omnimatter the burner version does not need fuel to mine ore, Initial placing does need one item which has a fuel value but after that it produce as fast as it can spit it out even after it has ran out of fuel.

Do not know if this is the case for the other miners as well will update when I get to them unlocked

Not sure if this is your mod issue or if it's an issue for omnimatter it's self

thanks:=)

Thank you for the report, investigating now.

I am unable to recreate the issue. I loaded Omnimatter 4.2.4 and the current version of Ore-ganizer. Both the vanilla burner drill and the Resource burner drill require fuel. Could there be another mod that could be causing the issue?

I have not played Omnimatter, it appears the omnitractors are the drill of choice for the mod and currently it is not supported.

Looking a little more deeply, it appears the omnitractors are not drills, but modified assembling machines. I do not think I will be adding support for Omnimatter, the next Ore-ganizer version will flag Omnimatter as incompatible.

I did a test once again now and it seem like it need fuel this time around but this time it was not the default preset not the "no resources" preset

I did test once again on the "No resources" preset and now it seem to require fuel and be more in line with what is expected

At first it said it was 250/s as an output but now it says 12/s for the burner version Could be another mod or a bug is my guess as I can't seem to get that to happen again either

Ah, I was mistaken about how the mod worked. I was thinking the omnitractors extracted and converted the omnite.
When I load Space Age, Omnimatter and Ore-ganizer, they all seem to be working properly for me.
Drills have the correct mining speed and fuel/electricity requirement and the Resource drills place Omnite as expected. No technology is required for infinite omnite.

If you are experiencing different results, it could be an issue with load order. When you are testing, do you also activate/deactive other mods?

Yes on my 2nd and 3rd test I have the same outcome as you. Yes the omnitractor is for converting the omnite into a useful ore/material. the Drill is what is actually extracting the Omnite and it was on the drill I saw and experienced this bug/incompability. I'm not exactly sure what mod made it bug out like that in mining speed and lack of fuel usage but I'll make sure I try and find out about it later when I have time to go throguh my active mods.

The main mods i'm using is all of the 5dim, most of Omnimatter (exluding Omnicompressions and Energy) and AAI industry. Rest is some additional stuff such as more quality's and other QoL mods. as it is now it seems to be working, but I'll get back to checking this out more later to see if I can find the culprit of the issue.

I went through the process now and I found the culprit.

I strongly believe it's https://mods.factorio.com/mod/5dim_automation

All I had active now was omnimatter and space age with or-ganizer and enabled one by one until it happend

Edit

Next test without the Automation it happen again now testing without any 5Dim as I suspect it may be the core of 5Dim

Final

Yes without 5Dim it read as expected and behaves as expected so incompability is 5Dim

I have tried to recreate this issue, but no luck, always the drills require fuel/electricity.
With a new map (with or without "No resources" presets), I am using all default startup settings:
Elevated Rails
Quality
Space Age
5Dim's mod - New Automatization
5Dim's mod - New Core
5Dim's mod - New Mining (also tested without this mod)
Omnilibrary
Omnimatter
Ore-ganizer

most be one of the settings in 5dim then. I'll look through the settings and see if I can pinpoint what setting it is

Think I found the issue. The setting infinite ore is what changing the mining speed and fuel/electricity issue

Just tested as well and now it out put one ore per cycle not 50+++ and stop when it run out or unpowered which is part of the New core where all the settings are for the pack.

I'm sorry I didn't think of the mod settings there.

I am sorry, but I am still unable to recreate issue. I am sure there is nothing this mod does that would make changes to the drills.
I do not know these mods well and would not want to write code to revert changes made by their startup settings.

Alright, when I toggled the infinite ore setting off in 5Dim settings it behave as expected. I did another test again now and I think I've been a little confused as well.

It appears that there might have been a issue at first regarding the fuel/power thing which don't seem to happen anymore (not sure what mod caused that) but with the infinite ore enabled in 5Dim it says 12/s with 5000 and 250/s with 100000 I think that is as expected after all when the resource is infinite

It seems like I have wasted your time regarding this issue now, and I'm deeply sorry for that.

I will keep trying to figure out what caused issue with the fuel requirement and let you know if I find out what caused it.

If you find that changes to the drills are needed (Resource drills not having matching stats), due to 5Dim mods changes, I could set 5Dim as a dependency. That way the Resource drills should then have the same changes.

No worries about reporting the issue, these things can get tricky. I am glad you care enough to report it.
