Hello. If I understood correctly, you need to select ore and place a drill. But I get an error "you can't place a drill on a surface without resources". Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

The message appears to be the message when you attempt to place a vanilla drill on grass.

You should see a Resource burner drill, one should be in the player inventory on start. If not a new save, then you should see recipes to make the Resource drills. The icons are a combination of stone and the drill/pumpjack. Select a resource, iron ore for instance, then select a Resource drill and place it. It should place iron ore under the Resource drill.
