No Handcraft Intermediates
Tired of hand-crafting thousands of gears and circuits? Force yourself to automate. With this mod, intermediate products can no longer be crafted by hand — only in machines. Buildings stay hand-craftable, so you can still build your factory.
Features
- Intermediate products are machine-only: gears, circuits, cables, plastic and everything in the Intermediate products tab.
- Science packs too (optional, on by default).
- Strict mode (optional): everything that can't be placed — ammo, armor, modules, intermediates — becomes machine-only. Only buildings stay hand-craftable.
- Exception list: type the recipes you still want to hand-craft.
- Burner assembling machine: a new fuel-powered assembler, available from the very start (iron plates + stone furnace). It makes everything an assembling machine 1 can make, so the game never soft-locks.
- A free burner assembler in your starting inventory (Freeplay, new game).
- Space Age ready: handles every hand-craftable category (electronics, pressing, organic...). Circuits can still be made in the Electromagnetic plant, Gleba products in the Biochamber, and so on.
- Safe: a recipe is only blocked if at least one machine can still make it.
- Mod-friendly: works with recipes and machines added by other mods.
- Fully localised in English and French.
How the start works
- Mine iron and stone by hand, place your stone furnace.
- Hand-craft (or use the free) Burner assembling machine, fuel it with coal or wood.
- Let it make your first gears and circuits, then automate from there.
Settings (Startup → Mod settings)
- What can't be hand-crafted — Intermediate products (default) or Strict: everything except buildings.
- Also block hand-crafting science packs — on by default.
- Exceptions — internal recipe names separated by commas, for example: iron-gear-wheel, copper-cable
- Burner assembling machine speed — default 0.4 (assembling machine 1 = 0.5).
- Give a burner assembling machine at start — on by default.
