Map Tag Generator

by majoca

Select entities and the generator will create a map tag representing their purpose. Works with many types of entities. If crafting machines are selected, the generator will create the tag based on their final products. Also adds a tool for erasing map tags.

i [Resolved] Add resource amount

Hi there!

Can you add the amount of raw resources, when creating a tag?

Like
"<coal_icon>1.2M",
"<iron_ore_icon>542k"

etc. ...

My use case is the following:
I want to tag the resources in a certain area by selecting the area and also include the amount of resources. I want to do this, so I can build mines and also go for the richest resource patches first. After I built the mines, I would erase the tags again. This way, I don't miss a patch and the tags serve as a sort of check list.
There are several other resource tagging mods, which do create resource tags with amounts. The con of all these mods is though, that if used, they do it on the whole map. And some of them take a very long time. In my use case this would "destroy" my checklist, as patches with mines already on them would be tagged again.

In case my use case is not very convincing, I think to add the amounts to resource tags is favorable in general. As the multitude of mods and their respective numbers of downloads shows.

What do you think about this?

Cheers!

Yeah, that should definitely be doable and I'd be happy to add that feature in the next update. I'll have to look into how the number formatting works but other than that it should be straightforward. Thanks for the suggestion!
