a Factory Search integration

(updated 5 months ago)

After playing for a while, I realised that I followed a pattern when something shows up in Undersupply. First, I'd click to see where the demand comes from. And then, I'd often open Factory Search to find the places that produce (too little!) of the item that is in demand.

To shortcut this, LI from v1.0.4 integrates with Factory Search directly. If you Ctrl-click on an item that is in undersupply, the Factory Search window opens, allowing you to use that mod to search for what you want. (If the mod is installed of course, it's optional).

Do you also think this is useful? Where else might it be useful?

I'd find it useful to be able to interact with the ticks/item items in this way. I've got an item with a very high ticks/item, so I want to see where the item is and where it's being requested. That's a job for Factory Search.

Also --and this should be a separate feature request, but it's topical here-- it'd be nice if all icons could be "picked up" with "q", so even if there isn't a direct link to Factory Search, I can pick it up, hit Shift-F and find it. And generally, I expect everything to be pickupable with "q".

Interesting ideas, thank you! I’ll see what I can do when I work on the next revision :)

I added this in v1.0.12, and it's a great idea to better integrate with the rest of the game. Let me know how you get along with it.

Ctrl-left-click on a ticks/item item doesn't do anything, even after the update. And I'm sure I've updated because "e" works.

I see you've added pipetting, rather than Factory Search integration. Got it. Works!

Yes, I thought that was simpler and more discoverable. Also your idea, so thank you for that :)
