🌐 Enable All Planet Mods

by Kryzeth

Simply has every currently available standalone planet mod on the mod portal as a forced requirement. Glorified shortcut to quickly enable all planets, moons, space locations, and exoplanetary systems (mainly used for compatibility testing). 🌐

i [Unnecessary] Alien Biomes incompatiable

a little recommendation / suggestion to mark Alien Biomes as a incompatible mod
as a few of the planets are not working with Alien Biomes right now

I might do that, I suppose.

I'm honestly surprised people still use that mod, considering how mod-breaking it has been, and that the standalone graphics mod exists (which most planet mods have been using instead). I don't even know the entire reason why it breaks things so much, just that it removes some tiles or something from the base game; seems purposefully problematic.

alien biome it's the most downloaded mods :/

The only reason it's the most downloaded mod is because it was a hard requirement for v1.1 Space Exploration

There are basically no popular mods (above 1k downloads) for Factorio 2.0 that requires Alien Biomes directly (excluding modpacks, and these two overhaul-adjacent mods: Realistic Starry Universe and Warp Drive Machine

Ideally, the individual planet mods should mark themselves as incompatible with Alien Biomes, if they are; it shouldn't necessarily be up to me (because what happens when/if they update and things become compatible? I'd have to play catch-up, constantly ensuring they are still incompatible)

I will try to remove Alien Biomes from my Fork project.

yes, it would be nice if each planet could independently propose its own biome, taking into account the existing tile limit in factorio.

The graphics from Alien biomes are still relevant, but alien biomes itself will be turned off for compatibility reasons.

Enable All Planet Mods mod has a dependency on planet-muluna mod, which has a dependency on Alien Biome Graphics and an optional for Alien Biomes Mod on the in-game mod list (not on their mod portal site).

Just because a mod has something listed as an optional dependency, doesn't mean that mod is necessary, required, or useful in any way to the other mod; it just enforces a specific load order, ensuring that certain assets are loaded before others that might depend on it.

The reason why Alien biomes is listed as an optional dependency for Muluna is to resolve a crash that happened when loading Alien Biomes. That is the only reason why.
