b K2 Tank Mod issues.

Hello Their,

decided to try your tank mod out. it appears that theirs no tech scaling modifiers for tank shells for the tank? and they do not do any damage when fired at biter bases eithor. can you fix this?

Thanks for reporting this — you were absolutely right.

I’ve fixed both issues in the latest update:

Version: 1.0.2
Date: 2026-01-06

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed projectiles not hitting entities (added collision_box and direction_only to all railgun projectiles).
  • Fixed duplicate item-name section in locale files.

Features:

  • Added tech scaling bonuses: k2-railgun-shell damage/speed added to physical-projectile-damage and weapon-shooting-speed tiers.
  • Added tech scaling bonuses: k2-impulse-rifle damage/speed added to laser-weapons-damage and laser-shooting-speed tiers.

Tank shells should now properly damage biter bases and scale with research as expected.

hello thier, glad to see its fixed and shells do damage now. seams to be a problem though. i think the cannon shell damage isnt % increase? i think it s a flat value currently? because normal tank cannon shells out damage the k2 tank shells currently by a fair bit.

Thanks for testing it further and pointing that out.

You’re correct — the current scaling setup is applying a flat bonus instead of a proper percentage-based increase, which causes the vanilla tank shells to eventually outscale the K2 shells by quite a bit.

I’ll be rebalancing the progression between the vanilla tank ammunition and the new K2 shells so the upgrade path feels more natural and doesn’t hurt the overall gameplay balance.

The goal is:

  • vanilla shells stay relevant early game,
  • K2 shells become a proper upgrade later on,
  • and both scale correctly with research tiers.

If you’d like, you can also help test the balancing.

Feel free to tweak the damage values on your side and send me the numbers/settings that feel best during gameplay. That would help a lot with finding a good balance between the vanilla tank shells and the K2 shells without hurting the overall progression.

Appreciate the detailed feedback — it really helps polish the mod.

their are no settings that are currently adjustable in the game mod config settings. you'l have to enable it to adjust it. but id start base with making the shells scale maybe 10% better damage wise than base tank shells? so its not super overkill.
