Yes. Because the bonus that the expansion brings is one that is quite tricky to implement in the current version of the game.
In the expansion, mining drills have a chance to not eat ore. This is different than prod, which gives free items. One could say "add prod, reduce speed" to get the same effect, but that only works to a point - It doesn't work correctly with mining prod or modules like speed.
Therefore, I only add bonuses to miners when "extra bonuses" is enabled, and there I chose to increase speed.
Feel free to add simple bonuses using the bonuses feature in the mod settings.
