This is an add-on mod for the Hard crafting mod created by judos, created with his permission.

This mod re-balances the incinerator buildings in Hard crafting to be more practical in their use. Their stats are comparable to regular furnaces, but incinerate somewhat faster, and create more pollution than basic furnaces do.

The research for the Incinerator is available from the beginning of the game, for a regular price of Red science packs, allowing you to incinerate unwanted items much earlier.

There is a new tier of incinerator buildings, between regular and electric, corresponding to the Steel furnace tier. It requires the appropriate research, and is roughly placed where the original Incinerator research has been before.

Finally, the costs of creating the incinerators have been brought in line with furnaces, albeit slightly more expensive and requiring a little bit more effort. They are no longer as oppressive as in the original.

All these changes provide more meaningful applications for the Incinerator building, specifically as a quick way to get rid of unmanageable amounts of smelting byproducts like slag and dirt, which may have resulted from a slow game start while learning the basics of the Hard crafting playstyle. In the spirit of the original, however, this incineration still takes fuel, produces strong amounts of pollution, and is an additional layer of buildings required to manage resources.
