Don't know if I missed something, but it says on the two items that they are too heavy for the rocket to carry to a platform. Don't know if I'm missing a research or if they're not meant to be used on platforms or not, but how your description of the mod it sounds to me that they should be able to be used on space platforms?

By default they cannot be sent in rockets (but can be assembled in platforms)

There's a setting to make it so you can put them in rockets tho
