Increase/Decrease Circuit Wire Max Distance

Increases the range of circuit wire cables (not power cables!) for all objects. Since the length is freely adjustable in the mod options, the length can also be shortened if desired. Space Exploration compatible (and should work with all other items from other mods that use circuit networks).

FAQ

Q: Will my existing network cables be deleted if I subsequently reduce the range in the options?
A: No. Factorio is very fault-tolerant. Existing cables remain fully functional and signals continue to flow. The new, shorter limit only takes effect if you manually disconnect a cable, it is damaged, or if you attempt to place blueprints using the old, excessively long cables.

Q: Why do some cables visually disappear when I set the distance very high (above 64)?
A: This is purely a visual behavior of the Factorio engine, designed to conserve processing power. When a connection is longer than 64 tiles and both connected objects are off-screen, the middle section of the cable is hidden. Zooming out or moving closer to one of the endpoints makes the cable visible again. The underlying logical signal transmission continues flawlessly at all times.

Q: Does this mod also work with machines, inserters, and objects from other mods (e.g., Space Exploration)?
A: Yes. The mod automatically scans all existing objects when the game loads. Every machine/object from any mod that accepts red or green signal cables will automatically be assigned the cable length you specified.

Q: Does this mod also increase the range of normal power cables (copper)?
A: No. The copper cable range of power poles remains completely unaffected (vanilla default) to prevent any disruption to the power grid balancing. However, if you increase this option, you can run signal cables (red/green) over enormous distances between power poles, even if their copper cable range is already exceeded.
