What is this?

Adds a third level of personal roboport. Requires Space Exploration (for now). Improves bot charging, bot count, and construction area in line with the mk1 and mk2 personal roboports.

Why write this?

We're in the middle of a Space Exploration run - maybe 600 hours in, roughly at the L2/L3 space science stage. Just unlocked spaceship components. So many things in Space Exploration continue to scale up and up, but we unlocked the mk2 Personal Roboport hundreds of hours ago and are stuck with it until the end of the game. Logically, it seemed that we would eventually move on to a mk3 version - we have Superchargers, we have fancy batteries, we have super advanced construction materials, it just makes sense.

I found a few mods that would do what we wanted, but nothing that was specifically and exclusively just a mk3 Personal Roboport. That being the case, I figured I'd take a crack at it myself.

What's the future state?

Here's what I want to include before considering this "stable". I'm open to further suggestions, and may come up with more ideas on my own, but these are the features that I won't consider the mod "complete" without:

  • A functional piece of equipment that boasts improvements over the mk1 and mk2 versions (done, if maybe not finalized)
  • Graphics that are in line with, but distinct from, previous versions (done, if maybe not finalized)
  • Startup options to allow the user to choose between:
    • Vanilla version - no SE components in recipe or research. Both will need to be expensive, as this is intended for Space Exploration and may be pretty OP in vanilla.
    • Space Exploration version - In my mind this is the "default" - will require SE components and science packs, and will fall roughly in the L2/L3 space science period of the game (unlocked after "Superchargers"
    • Cheapo version - A cheaty option to allow unlock shortly after the mk2, with a cheap recipe and easy research. If you want access early and don't really care about "cheating"
