Having a five minute spoil timer on the science feels like the worst case scenario isn't science neutralizing, but using that science before it gets neutralized
Sorry for the late answer, there is now a mod setting to change the spoil time of the electrochemical science packs.
The mod was never really tested beyond the base game, so issues like these were to be expected, as for now, you can set the spoil time of the ECM packs to whatever feels challenging enough to have fun.
