Grand Unified Factorio Theory


Unified equipment grids, smarter ore spawning, better integration of mods, and much more. Make rare ores actually rare. Make belt tiers beyond 2 meaningful. Put equipment from any (supported) mod into any (supported) armor or vehicle, or even just allow player equipment in vehicles. Remove barrel logistics entirely. Plus many more things I can't fit in this summary. And every gameplay-altering effect can be toggled in settings.

  Wagon Speed Normalization:
    - New feature
    - Sets all wagons to a relatively high maximum speed (1080kph) so train speed is entirely controlled by locomotive
    - This allows you to, for example, attach Yuoki "steam" wagons to an Angel tier 5 smelting locomotive and have the train run at max speed
    - If an existing wagon is somehow faster than this value, its max speed will be unchanged
    - At this time this is always enabled as it shouldn't make anything worse by being active
  Ore Crushing:
    - Now supports 248k ores and 248k pure ores
  Mod-Specific:
    - Setting "Py" vanilla ore preset disables vanilla coal (in favor of Py raw coal)
    - Adjusted tier of some Yuoki trains for increased consistency
  Bugfixes:
    - Various changes applied to Angel's mods based on recipe category now respect the newer higher-tier versions of those categories (primarily this affects sorters and algae farms)

  Ore Spawn Overhaul:
    - Added new manual checkbox settings for which ores spawn in the starting area. Previously, GUFT attempted to automatically determine this based on enabled ore sets, but it didn't always do what was expected. This allows you to, for example, enable Angel's and Bob's ores both but only have Bob's ores in the starting area. Or, you could even disable all starting ores entirely to encourage exploration. This does not however make any attempt to address the base game's issues with starting ores failing to spawn, so it still does not guarantee those ores will actually be on any given seed.
