Description

Full Steam Ahead is a lightweight quality-of-life mod that automates the tedious chore of manual locomotive refueling.

The moment you climb into an empty locomotive, or while you are actively riding a train that runs completely dry, the mod instantly scans your inventory and seamlessly drops a single stack of fuel into the engine's burner slots.

Features

  • Smart Fuel Sorting: Automatically scans your inventory and strictly prioritizes your highest-tier fuels first based on acceleration and top-speed values (Nuclear > Rocket > Solid > Coal > Wood).
  • 2.0 Quality Aware: Fully compatible with Factorio 2.0 and Space Age quality tiers. If you have multiple stacks of the same fuel type, it will intelligently select the highest quality tier available (e.g., Legendary Coal over Normal Coal).
  • Intelligent Round-Robin Distribution: If your train setup utilizes multiple connected locomotives, the mod evenly splits and distributes a single stack of fuel across all empty engines to ensure your entire train stays perfectly balanced.
  • Zero Performance Impact: Built with optimized event triggers and an efficient 1-second dynamic updater, ensuring absolutely zero micro-stutters or UPS/FPS drops, even in massive mega-factories.

How it Works

  1. On Boarding: Triggers the exact millisecond you transition from walking to sitting inside a locomotive.
  2. On the Move: While driving or riding, it checks the engine once per second. If the fuel inventory hits zero, it instantly tops it back off from your pocket so you never lose momentum.
  3. Strict Constraints: It will only insert fuel if the locomotive's burner inventory is completely empty, and it will never take more than a single stack from your inventory at a time.
