b Factory Building let me fly a plane into it (but not out of it)

NOTE: This is a heisenbug.

While flying in the Cargo plane from the Aircraft mod, sometimes while I'm zipping along, it will trigger me into a factory building when I fly over a door. However, not always. I can't seem to do it intentionally while recording for an example but it does seem to happen fairly regularly if I'm flying full speed and pass nearby the door.

Additional observation, though not enough to be consistent. It seems to be more common if I'm flying at the building more from the side than from the front.

Also, in case it matters, the vehicle is an AI vehicle, but it only happens when I'm piloting with it in standby or off mode.

Interesting. This mod only allows vehicles of type "spider-vehicle" to travel into factory buildings. I wonder if the airplanes ever change to this type temporarily.

they should not as they where made before spidertron was a thing but you never know

StormTAG, are you also using Lex's Aircraft, and was it one of the ones from that mod? The aircraft from that mod, the "Flying Light Gunship, "Flying Cargo Ship", and "Flying Combat Heavy Aircraft", are actually typed as spidertrons rather than cars at a prototype level. I've just filed a bug report on specifically that mod interaction (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/factorissimo-2-notnotmelon/discussion/632cb6c8ab7353a59a7a6c0e). The aircraft from the Aircraft mod ("Gunship", "Cargo Plane", "Jet", and "Flying Fortress") are, to my knowledge, typed as cars rather than spidertrons, and should not be able to enter the factories.

Edit: also, if you're using DMV (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/DMV_Directional_Movement_Vehicles), that probably also is converting vehicles to spidertrons. I've not looked at its code, but given how it changes the controls, and that it makes vehicles "bob up and down" (a trait of the spidertron type), I suspect it just global converts all vehicles to spidertrons.

I was not, but that's good to know. I linked the specific Aircraft mod in my original report.

Also not using that mod. 'Bout the only vehicle specific mods I can remember were AAI's programmable vehicles stuff.

I can add a blacklist for vehicles so they don't travel into factory buildings

Can you make a list of all airplanes/ect that turn into spidertrons you were having this issue with? Also what mod they are from

I just double-checked the HelicopterRevival mod and the helicopter is set to type: car now and it still enters factory buildings, both during manual flight and especially during autopiloting.

Honestly, the easiest solution to this would be to add a toggle setting to disallow vehicles to enter buildings at all, akin to the functionality of the original mod. Right now, every time I accidentally fly near a factory door, I get vacuumed in and have to dismantle the helicopter to get back out again as it fails to fully transplant the vehicle in.

It'll be invisible, but selectable. You can exit and enter both vehicle and building, but not get the vehicle out (it doesn't interact with the building exit). So I have to pick it up, walk out, place it back down and reconfigure it's inventory and grid again.

It's rather frustrating.
