1-6 ms looks too expensive for rain sprites. It's more likely caused by: - a lot of fire sources - pollution reduction on a huge map. It can affect performance because the budget for the whole map is 60 seconds by default
Do you have a large map?
no i just loaded a new game at default settings and set it to start raining
On my old laptop, the average update time never went above 0.5 ms at minimum zoom and default settings
Maybe there is some interaction with other mods. Can you reproduce it with only Dynamic Rain enabled?
I'll take a look again in just a bit and let you know if it's the same running it by itself
