I have small problem with it.

Why I keep dying on higlighted area https://imgur.com/S0jQsfX ?

In starting zone you can walk on ore untill some point it poisons you so I've figured out I will manually dig a hole, place some miners there and do a "base" in more deep area. It's mined out yet when I stand on it it's killing me anyway.

What am I doing wrong?

The burning ore is designed to limit exploration. You can't simply hide on a cliff where there's no ore. It scans a larger area than that. It's primary purpose is for multiplayer, but if you don't have randoms inflating the map file for no reason then you don't need it.
