When using the non-Perlin noise function (ore generation setting=1), regular iron ore and copper ore will be distributed on the map along with stiratite etc.
When using the Perlin Noise generation (=2), the regular iron and copper does not generate.

How can I remove the iron and copper generation when using the setting 1 (non-Perlin)? This does not occur when using only Bob's Ores.

I have tried disabling RSO in order to try to get this to work, but it has not helped.

I found the right check to prevent this from happening. Enjoy!

As a follow-up, how easy would it be to make a mod to change a regular ore patch into a dangoreus patch (say, using RSO)?

Not hard at all. That's handled entirely by the aptly named function, "dangOre" If you were to turn of the on_chunk_generated event, ore would be generated normally (or via RSO if you prefer), but it would still blow up anything built on it.

GOLDEN. I LOVE YOU, MYLON.

I find that the density seems to increase linearly from the origin -- this makes late game, or expanding to a different location, difficult. It's hard to manually mine one square for a box in front of the miner, plus powerline squares if the ore thickness is 800!
With normal-footprint patches of ore, there's a bit more freedom to move to a new location. I could make the ore frequency excessive to simulate the regular dangOre experience, while still allowing for new locations >:)

Thanks again!

Oops, I was unclear earlier -- how to make regularly-generated-shape patches (pure rubyte) into mixed-type (rubyte, coal, stiratite, etc) dangOre patches?

I have successfully edited line 501 in control.lua to make regular one-type patches into pain fields :D

That's a different mod. You need a mod like Ore Chaos or my soft mod, divOresity, to generate mixed patches of ore.

Thank you!

.. I can't find divOresity (searched this site as well as google).

DivOresity: https://github.com/Brickcaster/factoriorpg/blob/oarc-scenario/modules/divOresity.lua

I never published it as a standalone mod because Ore Chaos does mostly the same thing. Redmew also has a version called "Sparkle ores", I think.

I don't know how to use a raw .lua as a mod.

I tried Ore Chaos, and it's spawning thorium, copper, iron, and stone but I'm running Angels Ores. His mod has the same issue that this one did ("I found the right check to prevent this from happening. Enjoy!")!

Wouldn't be hard to publish divOresity as a standalone mod. I recently improved my workflow so it's easier to maintain a scenario and a standalone version! I was just afraid of stepping on toes.

divOresity now exists as a soft mod and it combines well with dangOreus! Enjoy.
