Hi there. As for now, if you copy/paste a chip, its content will disappear. Same with when saved as a blueprint.

Since this may be used to signigicantly save space for complex entities by saving common cells/blocks, could you add a blueprints support?

As far as i have tested, copy/paste is supported, and blueprinting also. The content is correctly saved and restored.
The only thing that is not supported is the update of an existing blueprint due to the limitation of the factorio API.
Can you give me a map where it is not working ?

Well, i've played around, and concluded the following:
1. The copy/paste indeed works on the main surface
2. However, as soon as you enter the Lab (where you have no body), it breaks.
3. IDK if this works on other non-Nauvis surfaces
