Adds a special, more expensive rocket silo that launches rockets directly
between Fulgora and Cerys, skipping the need for a space platform route
entirely.
Requires Cerys, Moon of Fulgora and Space Age.
How it works
- Build the "Direct Launch Silo" on Fulgora or on Cerys - it can't be built
anywhere else, the building will be returned to you if you try. - Its rocket doesn't fly into orbit to be caught by a platform - it flies
straight to the paired planet's surface instead. Under the hood this uses
the same on_rocket_launch_ordered + cargo_pod_destination technique used by
mods like Lunar Landings, applied to the Fulgora <-> Cerys pair. - If there's no cargo landing pad on the receiving end, cargo lands near
(0,0) as a container, same as vanilla behavior for a platform delivery
without a landing pad.
Balance
Building the silo costs the same as a normal rocket silo. Using it doesn't:
by default each launch needs 3x the rocket parts of a normal launch. This is
a startup setting ("Direct launch cost multiplier", range 1-20x), so you can
tune it to taste before starting a save.
The unlocking technology also requires Cerys's own cargo-drops technology
(the one you get from sending a hydrogen bomb to orbit), if that technology
exists in your save. So this mod doesn't let you skip past Cerys's own
challenge - it just gives you a faster way to move cargo once you've already
earned normal cargo delivery there.
Known limitations
- Uses vanilla rocket silo graphics - no custom art, so it looks identical
to a normal silo (name/tooltip is how you tell them apart). - To unlock the cargo-drops technology in the first place you still need a
normal silo - this one never sends anything to actual orbit. - Not a Cerys, Moon of Fulgora official add-on, just a small companion mod.
Not extensively playtested - back up your save before adding it to an
existing game.
