b Softlock with Krastorio 2 Spaced Out

Hello, hope you are well, longtime fan of your work. Thank you for all that you do!

When playing with K2 Spaced Out and Silica & Silicon on a new save the player will not be able to craft advanced circuits resulting in a technology lock. The recipe for electronic components used in circuits changes silicon to a silicon wafer, however to make the wafer you need hydrogen chloride, which is locked behind advanced chemistry at blue science, and to make blue science you need advanced circuits.

Thanks, and have a great day!

I was just going to make an issue about this, glad I saw this

The issue is present with base K2 as well: I've temporarily changed the mod to only use 5 units of chlorine, unlocked with the chemical plant, instead of hydrogen chloride.

It'd be nice to find a less temporary and more official solution to this, since the only alternative is to disable silicon wafers entirely at startup in the configs.

Hi, very sorry for the delay on this. This will be fixed in the next update. When S&S is enabled, K2's Fluid chemistry tech is supposed to unlock Hydrogen Chloride, but I forgot to update the internal ID on the unlock, for 2.0

Thank you for the response and updates!

The technology has been properly moved, however I believe the silicon recipe (wood and coke or wood and carbon) is missing from the technology unlock itself and doesn't appear in the crafting window, but it does appear in factoriopedia.

As it is now we're unable to set the recipe for making Silicon in a furnace as it does not appear in any crafting menu. Using the mod Editor Extensions, I was able to force the recipe into a furnace and it shows the red circle with a slash, indicating it isn't registering as an unlocked technology (and recipe book shows no technology unlock).

Again, thank you!

Edit P.S.

On the topic of Silicon, there's no reasonable way to get coke on Vulcanus, and for this I decided to switch back from K2 Spaced Out, and is it by intention that Tin doesn't have a "From Lava" recipe and only the "From Ore" recipe? Only ask as iron, copper and lead all do. Last I've noticed that bronze doesn't have a foundry recipe, which is minor but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

Thanks for letting me know. New update pushed with a fix for the silicon recipe.

I've also added a coal + carbon -> coke recipe unlocked on Vulcanus when K2SO is enabled, as it is indeed a requirement for silicon, and that recipe generally makes sense. Not sure if Polka will ever find a need to add such a recipe, but if so I can remove mine.

As for tin, the idea was to have a different production chain on Vulcanus from some of the other metals. So since the tin ore is made from a sulfuric acid chain, it made sense to not have a lava recipe.

And lastly, there should be a foundry recipe for bronze available (17 molten copper + 3 molten tin -> 2 bronze plate). I see it in my saves both with K2SO and without.

Thank you for the quick updates! It is greatly appreciated. The acquisition of Tin on Vulcanus is indeed unique but I like the approach you've taken and my apologies, I mislooked over the recipe, it is indeed there.

Again, your work is appreciated and I hope you are well, cheers!

Wanted to give a small update (sorry I keep running into these haha) but when playing Krastorio 2 (No Spaced Out, I'm playing two saves for when I get tired of planetary exploration) the player may be unable to make Silicone due to the same issue that affected Silicon, being that it was in the game but not part of any technological unlock and forcing the recipe shows the red slashed circle.

Thank you again!

P.S. Out of curiosity, is this more convenient for you or would you rather Github issue tracker?
