Brave New OARC Scenario

This mod is a scenario that overhauls multiplayer merging Brave New World and OARC for an awesome single player / multiplayer game. Play on teams or solo in your own base, while other players do the same. Chat with players, learn from their builds. You get to do your own design. You choose to play legacy character mode, or BNO Mode where you have no body, unable to craft anything yourself (lazy bastard) and must command bots to build everything. You start with resources and a little power.

a 4.1.4 Release

4.1.4 release has defaulted to fast bots. Although I did a huge amount of testing with normal bots, fast bots are fun as heck.
Also bots won't die to spitter or basically any biter attacks. They are not indestructible, but they are damn hard to kill. In a bot only game, I feel this is ok.
Moat is by default ON, if you want an island that the bots can not attack, edit this in the config.lua before starting your game. Next release this selection will be in the mod selections, along with fast bots, which is there now.
This game plays from either dedi or hosting from your steam account.
Lots of testing - exploding bots are fixed, also I sent this fix over to Oarc.
Some things that caused games to crash are fixed.

I spent the last few days testing 4.1.4 on a dedicated server. The bots are surely impervious to biter attacks. Fast bots are less grindy than slow, and enables you to move through the scenario really quickly especially if you take the time to setup blueprints. I share my blueprints if you find and join my dedi.

But - there is one issue, which I hope to fix shortly. After about ten hours of play the game crashed. I've enlisted Brave New World devs to help diagnose the problem.

Also I will be adding more mod settings, to add to the existing selection of fast/slow bots and adding Moat bridge: yes/no. Without a bridge you have no worries about attacks while you're getting started in the circle. In addition to the two dots of oil inside main, I add three outside, but close to main and I've increased their richness. I've been thinking of adding an option for a circle around main for iron/coal/copper/stone - but outside the moat.

For now my main concern is robustness. Please chime in with a log file if you see a crash.

Played another six hours today, had another person on with me as a buddy base. All worked great with one exception. On a dedicated server, the game drops from the server list in Steam after a short while, although continues to play and is rejoinable by just choosing to join the server from the last game you played. I need to find the cause of this.

Another issue, more of a "feels funky" is when playing with Fast Bots, and you make new bots - they are not fast. This becomes a major negative, since delivering items can be either fast or slow at this point. Also researching higher speed bots or setting the speed via console commands - increases the new bots, but also increases the old fast bots, such that they can be lightning fast. I watch them from map view and they are like lightning bolts, although charging frequently, since I've reset their energy state to normal. I want to normalize the speed so starting and new bots are the same.

Another observation: Starting is not easy in this mod. You really need to know your stuff. And a bot only game either means you must know or willing to take the time to learn how bots work. For example - more noticeable on slow bots, if you move something, the item is picked up - brought back to a yellow or green chest, then delivered. Also if you delete a roboport, all bots that were in that roboport are delivered to a yellow chest. You need to setup a requester chest to push them back into a roboport.

You'd be advantaged to learn how to use green chests to aid you. My blueprints for this game have a starter "work shop", that capitalizes on green chests.
if you have something to build very far from main, you can drop a green chest, request items, then logistics bots deliver them. Then place them, and construction bots use the green chest instead of going back to main. Also I use them in my workshop to really use the bots efficiently, since early game you have very few inserters.
