If you're interested in 'balance' feedback, I've been prototyping a self-sustained platform that didn't need asteroid intake. The footprint of the space cultivators processing boompuff is quite high compared to asteroid crushing, mostly due to the low ratio of 'seed' puffs to puff output. One idea would be to use the puff gas itself as the seed, forsaking water intake to make it distinguished from the rest. Another would be to reduce the puff gas necessary to make grenades and explosives. Or, simply, increase the yield of boompuffs per cultivation cycle.
Some numbers on the idea at legendary prod3 modules (and one legendary speed beacon a piece but could go higher):
A full stacked turbo belt of military science using coal synth from bioflux to nutrients -> nutrients recycled to spoilage -> biocarbon -> + biosulfur -> coal
-- 6 space yumako and 3 space jellynut cultivators, 9 total
Same output, but with boompuff -> gas
-- 55 space boompuff cultivators
From testing a few changes to the recipe numbers on my end, dividing the gas required by between 5-3.5 yielded much more comparable returns, but that number could go as low as 2.5-1.5 if gas was instead used as the seed as well, allowing the productivity to step in on higher tiers to make the system more loopable. Numbers are similar for the explosives from puff gas as well, the yumako/jellynut route outperforming boompuff by a wide margin
