I'm not sure whether this is a bug or is intentional, but when I use Bob's Character Classes in 1.17 and pick a class, I don't seem to gain any effects. For example, I can't hand-smelt ore by hand as the miner, I don't run faster as the Fighter class, etc. I do have differing starting items, however, so I assume that the classes are being applied to my character. They just don't have the effects that should go with them.

I too am finding this. No hand-smelting for the miner.

It's a bug. I introduced the bug while trying to stop issues with the new 0.17 scenario editor.
0.17.2 fixes this.
