Biter Laboratories

You know that there's more to learn in this world, but after studying the machinations of your meager factory, you've come to a standstill. The equations are etched into the cliffs, but their intricate grooves feel off. Lifeless. Dry. As it dawns on you what needs to be done, you grimace and reach for the ceremonial knife you promised never to use. The only way forward is through a river of blood.

Features

  • Killing enemies nearby Science Altars with the requisite science packs progresses technology research.
  • Science packs are still consumed at the same rate as before.
  • Research progress is randomly distributed between all technologies currently available for research.
  • Unlock the Soul scouter to analyze groups of enemies to see how many souls they're worth.
  • Enemies with more health give more souls, and the soul cost for each unit of research increases the further you progress.

Compatibility

  • Science packs from other mods should work fully, so long as they are normally researched in the vanilla Lab.
  • Killing enemies is required, so researching on planets without enemies (such as Fulgora, Aquilo, Cerys, Space Platforms, and Moshine) is not possible. This will not be fixed, and is an inherent restriction.
  • Character skin mods do not currently work with the soul scouter.
