Higher max power generated from wind turbine. It currently is generating less power then the solar panel, is more expensive to make and is much later in the research tree.
Wind turbine generates energy all day long so you don't need to build the accumulator fields for using it as your fully self-sufficient energy source. imho this is an acceptable tradeoff. Maybe there will be turbine upgrades like Mk2 or something like that.
