i Feedback on modules

Hey, I had a look at this mod and noticed it adds modules that reduce pollution. While certainly a cool concept, the Efficiency Module in the base game already has this exact effect (although it's not listed).

Example:
Assembler 3 with 2x Ecology Module 3 produces 0.4/m pollution while using 388kw.
Assembler 3 with 2x Efficiency Module 2 produces 0.4/m pollution while only using 75kw.

Maybe you can give them a different effect? Perhaps modify them to be the only type of module usable inside your air purifiers to boost their effectiveness?

Hi, those are really reasonable points.

Due to the way Factorio works, I don't have an option to give my modules some really unique effect, but as you correctly noted, the effect of reducing pollution actually consists of itself and the power consumption of the machine, which is not mentioned in the description and that is not quite obvious. For the time being, I'm considering two options in this regard: either to make ecological modules simply pumped versions of efficiency modules, or to make them a unique type of module used in my air purifier, or both at once.
Anyway, thank you for your feedback.

P.s.: In Factorio there is a stupid limitation, which does not allow, for example, to set a module to reduce pollution by 100%. If it were possible, I would probably have done just that.

What could be an option is making Eco modules reduce both pollution and energy consumption, because while pollution automatically scales with energy consumption, if you add in modules that increase energy consumption the pollution goes back up.

Though a problem I see with that is that they'd essentially just entirely overshadow Eff modules, making them obsolete which seems unfortunate. So maybe you could instead add the -Pollution to the existing Eff modules and repurpose your Eco modules to, as you said, modify the behavior for your air purifiers.

Maybe they could have -Speed to make the filters last longer, or (ironically, atleast I think this is how that works) +Pollution to make it suck up more pollution?

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. When I have time, I will review the balance issue and decide on the best course of action. Ideally, it would be good to make the ecology modules useful both in vanilla buildings and in my air purifiers. I'll see what I can do.
