Does this add new cargo bay items or recipes?

No. You continue to craft and place the vanilla cargo bay. The capacity upgrade is applied automatically for the owning force.

How many cargo bay upgrades are there?

One. It raises each cargo bay from 20 to 50 slots.

Why is the upgrade expensive and gated behind Aquilo?

The single 50-slot research costs 10,000 units of every science pack through Aquilo, including cryogenic science. This keeps the capacity increase a late-game choice with a constrained performance impact.

Is promethium science required?

No. The 50-slot upgrade is available without promethium science.

What happens to higher-capacity cargo bays from an earlier version?

Updating to this version downgrades 60- to 150-slot cargo bays to 50 slots if the research is completed, otherwise to the vanilla 20 slots.

Does it affect cargo pod throughput or rocket capacity?

No. It only changes the inventory capacity contributed by cargo bays.
