FAQ

How is this implemented?

BerbCorp Lane Balancers is implemented as data-stage content with BerbCorp-prefixed prototypes and Factorio's native lane-splitter behavior.

Is this heavy on UPS?

No. It uses Factorio's native lane-splitter prototype and has no on_tick logic, surface scans, item-moving Lua, or persistent runtime state.

Does this require BerbCorp Belts?

Yes. BerbCorp Belts is required so Mark 4-8 lane balancers can match BerbCorp belt speeds, visuals and technologies.

Does this replace vanilla splitters?

No. It adds separate single-tile lane balancers. Vanilla and BerbCorp splitters remain unchanged.

Why does each recipe craft two?

A normal splitter handles both belt lanes. A lane balancer handles one lane, so the matching splitter recipe produces two lane balancers.

Does it require Space Age?

Yes. It follows the current BerbCorp logistics stack, which is Space Age based.

Is this safe for existing saves?

Yes, it is safe to add. If removed, placed BerbCorp lane balancers and their items will be removed like normal modded entities.
