I am using the Krastorio mod. It features large miners that mine a mod-specific resource from one spot.
When placing beacons around the miner every (modded) belt gets saturated.
Even when placing a large 6x6 chest next to the miner to have 18 outputs of the fastest modded belts, the miners still saturates them.

This mod would solve this problem by being able to build a wider array of Balancers - that could then feed more belts and thus allow faster mining.

The question is, if the Belt Balancers would also accept direct input from a miner?

I don't know if it does or not, but for this particular problem I recommend combining https://mods.factorio.com/mod/WideChests with a mod that adds loaders, so that you can essentially perform exactly what you're asking for. Just plop down a few steel chests in a line along the output of the miner, then merge them, then add loaders to extract the contents.
