Balanced Waterfill

by Kabinet

Adds a more balanced counterpart to other, popular waterfill mods. Keeps buildings, spidertrons, cliffs, and other entities safe from being destroyed by waterfill, while still letting you use offshore pumps wherever you like. Highly configurable, and fully compatible with several popular mods including Space Exploration and Cargo Ships. Walkable to prevent you from making impenetrable defenses.

i Blueprintability With Pumps [Can't Fix]

Is there any way to have this waterfill be able to be added in a blueprint? I want to use it for my nuclear reactor setup and do not want to manually place all the waterfill and pumps.

Absolutely! This is in fact already a feature, just make a new blueprint with the waterfill tiles already placed in it, and when you put down the blueprint, robots will be able to build it just fine.

Might help if I had the tiles option checked. Thanks for the reply.

No worries! Glad you sorted it out.

I created a blueprint with an offshore pump and balanced waterfill. When attempting to place it, it says "Cannot build here". Here's the blueprint string:

Unfortunately, It seems this is a limitation of the Factorio engine, and it will under no circumstances allow for an offshore pump (or any entity that requires a specific tile behind it) to be placed unless said tile exists in the world, it does not check for ghost entities, and will not allow you to place the pump. There isn't much I can do about it, I would recommend making one blueprint for the water, and one for everything else, it is a bit of a pain, but I don't see a way around it. I will look into an option to potentially make it more convenient using runtime scripting, but no promises I can get anything working. Sorry :(
