i Complex ore in space

Hello,

My main problem with angel in space age is the lack of resources out of nauvis. New or existing asteroids dropping angel's ore could fix that.

My other suggestions are :
Uniting aquilo's fluorine & Ammonia with angels ones.
Adding a way to "refine" vulcanus tungsten in angel tungsten.
Adding a way for gleba bacteria to spoil into angel ores.
Adding a way to convert lava in angel's ore or even molten metal (could be a bit op).

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Great suggestions!

I will confess that I'm currently creating this mod while playing, unblocking myself as I go. I haven't gone to all the planets yet, so I'll have to get there before I can test modding them.

Space Age - for me - has felt like a bunch of mini games but you always want to "go back home" to Nauvis. With this mindset, the excursions should be simple enough to complete and then allow travel back again. I we'd include angel ores in space, that would explode the complexity and size of space ships. You would probably build a huge space base, equally complex as you main base on Nauvis - This would turn into another Sea/Space Block.

I think the original Space Age was designed so that you are not expected to have any meaningful production in space, except for a few select items. We don't want to move all production up into space.

I tend to build the strict minimum on planets and focus on producing everything in space, but I understand your way of thinking.

For that use case, ores in space would very interesting! Altering the asteroids is beyond my knowledge though, for now.

Altering the crushing & advanced crushing recipes could work tho.

Something like
- Saphirite for metallic asteroid crushing
- Rubite & carbon for carbon asteroid crushing
- Bobmonium & ice for ice asteroid crushing

And maybe adding a recipe for ammo using carbon instead of coal for the turrets.

Advanced crushing could bring jivolite, stiratite & crotinium for further space production.

I'd want to keep the original recipe for asteroid crushing, which still allows compact space ships, except for the ammo recipe. I like the idea of more advanced recipes though, maybe we could add a third tier crushing to bring the other ores.

We could also introduce an omni ore-like "stardust", which could be sorted into the other ores.

Having a really imbalanced sorter could be a fun experiment. Waste management is different in space since you can just toss stuff off the edge.

As the factory grows, you would need more and more logistics just to throw stuff out.

I LOVE that stardust Idea, it has a "fulgora" vibe with the junky probabilistic output, and it can be a base for a huge sorting/processing orbital plant.

I love the stardust idea too, but I found a more integrated way to do it, which feels more in line with the Angel's mods. It might be a bit OP though, even though sludge crystallization is really slow.

Carbon(from carbonic asteroids) -> Carbon filter
Metallic asteroid + Water(from oxide asteroids) -> Slag Slurry + Crushed Stone + Metallic asteroid (%)
Slag Slurry + Carbon filter -> Mineral Sludge + Filter Frame

From mineral Sludge, there are already recipes to make all 6 bob ores in the Crystallizer.

That's an amazing idea, its feels very on par with other recipes, op factor is limited by the crafting time or size & energy demands, and its pretty scalable too in late game.
