After some time, building a spaceship to travel becomes just a chore. After all, you've done it so many times already. And then you have to start from scratch again...

This mod solves this problem by cutting a corner: you do not need a spaceship to travel at the beginning of the game. All you need is your pistol. Just take it in your hand.

Is this cheaty?

Well, you decide. Each next jump is more expensive than the previous one so it takes longer and longer to recharge. Do not expect free transport on a whim - as the next planet is chosen randomly the chances to arrive at a predetermined destination are not a 100% - save before travel if your luck started to run out.

In any case - I tried it for quite a few hours and I don't think it makes the game boring. You just change your strategy.

So - how many jumps are possible?

Technically, infinite. Your pistol has enough battery for 10 cheapest jumps and should fully recharge in about 10 minutes at the start of the game. But the more you jump, the longer it takes to recharge.
