Adjustable Quality
Description
Take full control over Factorio’s quality scaling with Adjustable Quality! This mod allows you to customize all aspects of quality progression, keeping the default settings intact while giving you the freedom to tweak values to your liking.
Features
- Adjustable Quality Levels – Modify quality tiers to fit your gameplay style. These values impact recharge times, max speeds, weapon range, science pack capacity, etc.
- Adjustable Quality Names – Rename the quality tiers to something more fitting of a factory building game instead of an RPG.
- Adjustable Quality Effects – Fine-tune the quality percentage of Quality and Speed Modules. These values get scaled by the quality level, so you can decide what quality percentage a fully moduled machine can reach.
- Configurable Quality Lab Drain – Balance research costs with adjustable drain rates for each quality of lab. This is an optional feature of the game that is disabled normally.
- Customizable Mining Drill Resource Drain – Control resource depletion mechanics.
- Beacon Power Usage Settings – Adjust power consumption for beacons.
- Next Probability Adjustments – Modify the probability scaling of quality upgrades from one tier to the next. These settings can be used to skip multiple tiers if desired.
- Enable Optional Quality Scaling – Includes adjustments for Cargo Wagons, Fluid Wagon, Beacons, Tesla Weapons, Container, Roboport, and Asteroid Collector. All prototypes with an optional quality scaling now have the property exposed for you to manipulate.
- Every new option from 2.0.56 is now included! – Now includes the ability to scale the value of quality science, module slots on machines, and many other features that are explained in the changelog!
- New option from 2.0.69 – Control how many jumps upgrades can make, letting you control the upgrades that occur more precisely.
- Support for quality mods – Both Additional Quality as well as Quality Plus Plus are supported with adjustment points for their names, levels, lab science pack drain, and next probability. When it detects these mods active, it also adds an adjustment point for Legendary quality.
Perfect for players who want to experiment with the quality system in space age. Tune it down, tune it up, go crazy! It's all up to you how you want to play.
For a suggestion, use these quality levels for a hyperscaled game:
uncommon: 2
rare: 4
epic: 7
legendary: 11
OR
Use standard quality levels:
Default multiplier: .6
Science Pack durability multipier: 3
Naming suggestions:
I had fun coming up with this naming scheme for a 9 tier play-through that works for just 5 as well:
Basic → Improved → Advanced → Refined → Optimized → Calibrated → Honed → Tempered → Perfected

Based on the code from Easy Quality and Additional Qualities
Warning
Changing your quality levels mid game is not recommended if adjusting downward. Setting to a lower value may cause items to be lost inside equipment grids, so be careful when making those adjustments.
