Simply more zoom range and zoom smoothly into chart view (like in 1.1) Use the /zooom command to customize it to your needs
Providing the player with new tools or adjusting the game interface, without fundamentally changing gameplay.
Play it your way.

This is just the little brother of Kuxynator's “Zooming Reinvented Running” Why not give it a try? ;-) I don't use Zooom anymore, so this upgrade is a very low priority for me.
