Your own personal shuttle train, all from one button on the shortcut bar.

Choo-Choo Taxi turns any locomotive into a personal taxi train. Click one button to call it, hop in, pick where you want to go, and it takes you there. When you step out, it drives itself back to the depot so your stations stay clear.

No research, no items, no equipment grid. Just a button. ✨

✨ Features

• One button does everything: register your taxi, call it, and open the station list

📖 How to Use

1. Pick your taxi

1. Open any locomotive by clicking on it.
2. With the locomotive window open, click the Choo-Choo Taxi button on your shortcut bar (or press Alt + J).
3. That train is now your Choo-Choo Taxi! 🎉

2. Call your taxi

1. Walk up to any rail or train stop.
2. Click the Choo-Choo Taxi button.
3. Your shuttle train heads your way. If there's a train stop nearby it stops there, otherwise it stops at the closest piece of rail.
4. A message pops up when it arrives. Hop in!

3. Pick a destination

1. Climb into your taxi. The station list opens automatically. You can also click the button while you're riding to open or close it.
2. Click any station to go there.
3. Search: start typing to filter the list, then press Enter to go to the first match.
4. When you arrive, the taxi switches to manual and waits while you get out.

4. Set a depot

1. Open the station list while riding your taxi.
2. Every station has a small train-stop button next to it. Click it to make that station your taxi's depot.
3. The depot's button lights up and the station shows a train-stop icon.
4. Click the button again to clear the depot.

5. Going home

• Automatic: when you step out after a ride, the taxi drives itself back to the depot.
• By hand: standing next to your empty taxi? Click the button to send it home.

🚀 Space Exploration Compatibility

Choo-Choo Taxi works with Space Exploration and its space elevator!

• Calling across the elevator: if your taxi is on the other side of a space elevator, calling it sends it through the elevator to you.
• Riding across the elevator: stations on the connected surface appear in the station list marked "(via space elevator)". Pick one and your taxi takes you through the elevator to get there.
• One depot for connected surfaces: you only need one depot for a planet and its orbit. If there's no depot on the side the taxi is on, it rides the space elevator back to the depot on the other side.

Trips go one elevator hop at a time (a planet ↔ its orbit). A different planet needs its own depot.

Space Exploration is optional. The mod works fine without it.

⚙️ Settings (per player)

💡 Tips

• Want to switch taxis? Open a different locomotive and click the button.
• Type /choo-choo-release in chat to release your taxi so it's a normal train again.
• Your taxi keeps its interrupts, so refueling interrupts still work.
• If your taxi is in a train group, it's taken out of the group so its trips don't change other trains' schedules.
